MURDER MYSTERY AUDITIONS
Four Tutus for Two
Performance Date: Saturday, October 11, 2025
Audition Date: Saturday, September 6, 2025
Time: 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM
Location: The Bit Theater – Aurora, IL
The Bit Theater is proud to present Four Tutus for Two, a hilarious, interactive murder mystery written by Bit Artistic Director Patrick Stinson. This fast-paced comedy mixes theatrical satire with audience participation, colorful characters, and plenty of surprises.
Four Tutus for Two follows the chaotic opening night of a new play, interrupted by the sudden onstage “death” of its director. A detective, Hugh Dunit, recruits the audience to help solve the crime, sending them on a comedic whodunit adventure. The suspects? A washed-up Broadway star, an Olympic sharpshooter beauty queen, a peanut-obsessed theater owner, a no-nonsense stage manager, a playwright/doctor with questionable methods, and a nosy reporter with secrets of her own.
The show combines scripted scenes with improvised moments and live interaction with the audience—actors must be comfortable blending comedy, mystery, and improv.
- Hugh Dunit – 40s–60s. Overconfident yet oddly charming detective and founder of the SelectDetect franchise. He’s part sleuth, part salesman, turning the murder investigation into a promotional seminar. Breaks the fourth wall constantly, banters with suspects, and guides the audience through solving the crime. Requires strong improv skills, comedic timing, and the ability to engage a crowd.
- Nan Binary – 30s–40s. Experienced stage manager, world traveler, and budding director. Practical, professional, but not afraid to give as good as she gets in backstage arguments.
- Han DeSome – 30s–40s. Former Broadway prodigy turned pompous has-been, now desperate for a comeback. Think charming diva meets lovable goof.
- Beatrice T. Fulle (Bea) – 20s–30s. Former beauty queen and Olympic 10m air pistol competitor. Talented at many things… acting isn’t one of them. Sweet but unintentionally cutting.
- Dr. Watts Wong – 40s–60s. Local doctor, psychiatrist, and aspiring playwright. Supportive of the arts—sometimes in very questionable ways.
- Cassius King – 40s–60s. Peanut oil tycoon turned theater owner. Big personality, bigger ego, and all about the money.
- Ima Riter – 20s–40s. Ambitious reporter who smells a story everywhere she goes. Pushy, persistent, and secretly insecure.
- Petre Fied – 30s–50s. The deceased (appears alive at the start). Director of the play-within-the-play, secretly in love, allergic to peanuts, and deeply unhappy with the production.
- Strong comedic timing
- Ability to memorize scripted scenes while improvising in character with the audience
- Comfort with breaking the fourth wall and engaging with patrons directly
- Physicality and expressive acting for farcical comedy
- Improv experience is a plus

MUSICAL AUDITIONS
Fox Country Players is proud to announce auditions for their fall musical, Ordinary Days!
What does New York City sound like? Come find out at “Ordinary Days”, a delightful chamber musical that had its New York premiere Off Broadway in 2009, and now kicks off Fox Country Players’ long awaited 42nd season. This quietly extraordinary, brilliant little musical cleanses the soul, lifts the spirit, and reminds you what you love about art, people and The Big City in the fall. A musical about human connection, Ordinary Days shares the overlapping lives of two wildly different pairs, navigating day-to-day struggles and relationships, but also the things too heavy to carry alone.
How do you find true connection in a city full of strangers? And when you do, will you be brave enough to hold onto it?
