This summer, give your child the gift of confidence, creativity, and laughter! Our week-long improv camp, led by the dynamic and dedicated Jim Heffernan, is the perfect place for kids and teens to thrive and have fun.
What They’ll Learn:
- Essential improv skills like listening, “yes, and,” and quick thinking
- How to create stories and characters on the fly—no script needed!
- Collaboration and support in a team environment
- Turning mistakes into opportunities for growth
Why Improv is the Best Camp Choice:
Improv builds confidence, adaptability, and social skills—perfect for helping kids express themselves and make friends in a fun, supportive environment. It’s also a fantastic way for them to break out of their comfort zone and unlock their creativity!
Meet Your Instructor, Jim Heffernan:
Jim Heffernan might have earned his B.S. in Accounting in the 1990s, but his true love is for creativity and laughter. Jim discovered improv in 2015 while exploring the Streets of Woodfield and quickly became hooked, taking every class he could find at Laugh Out Loud Theater. He went on to co-found a successful improv troupe that performed throughout the northern suburbs—sharing his passion for improv with audiences everywhere.
In 2022, Jim joined The Bit Theater family, where he’s done it all: from performing with the high-energy short-form team Accidental Jackhammer to running tech, bartending, and, most importantly, teaching classes to students of all ages. Jim’s approach to improv is all about fun, teamwork, and building confidence—he loves helping young performers discover the magic of saying “yes, and” and seeing their imaginations come alive.
Why Your Child Should Go:
In a supportive and encouraging environment, your child will:
✅ Make new friends and strengthen social skills
✅ Unlock their creativity and spark new passions
✅ Experience the thrill of performing for friends and family in a final showcase on July 25 at 7 PM
Ready to see your child shine?
